About Appinfraconnect
A Sheung Wan practice devoted to the unglamorous work of making multi-entity consolidations auditable.
Why we exist
Hong Kong holding companies often grow by acquiring trading arms in the Greater Bay Area, factories in Vietnam, or sales offices in Singapore. The statutory accounts of each entity may be tidy; the consolidated pack is where eliminations slip, currencies misalign, and related-party notes lag reality. Appinfraconnect was founded to audit that layer — the consolidation — with the same seriousness others reserve for a single-entity statutory file.
Origin
The practice took shape in Sheung Wan after years of group audit seasons spent chasing reciprocal balances between parents on Connaught Road and subsidiaries inland. We keep our office at Shun Tak Centre, 168-200 Connaught Road Central, close to ferry terminals and the finance teams who still prefer face-to-face clearance meetings.
How we work
We staff lean files: an engagement partner, a consolidation manager, and field seniors who know how to read an elimination worksheet. We do not sell software, dashboards, or “transformation programmes.” We examine evidence, challenge journals, and sign opinions when the group statements deserve them.
People
Our partners hold practising certificates relevant to Hong Kong company audits and have led consolidations ranging from three-entity family holdings to regional groups with more than twenty components. Managers rotate through elimination testing and component liaison so that institutional knowledge stays in the file, not in a single person’s inbox.
Values in practice
- File over flourish — every material elimination has a workpaper, not a slide.
- Access before opinion — if a component denies access, we say so early.
- Plain language — management letters name the ledger and the amount, not vague themes.
- Independence first — we refuse bookkeeping or consolidation preparation for groups we audit.
Community
We advise finance forums in Central and Sheung Wan on year-end consolidation readiness, and we mentor junior accountants who are learning how group materiality differs from entity materiality. Our clients are commercial groups, not technology vendors seeking a platform story.
